You will join at a pivotal and transformational moment of the business. Being part of the Finance Team, you will be the on the pulse of the organisation and able to have impact. 

We are looking for an AP Accountant to join our Finance Department and support our team across all our international entities

In this role, you will report directly to the Group Accounting Manager, and work with the GL Accountants and the broader finance team on tasks such as: 

  • Receive, review & post vendor invoices in the accounting system, mainly using OCR and other automated systems 

  • Ensure approval of invoices according to internal policies. Liaise with the different budget owners across the entire group. 

  • Prepare weekly payment runs & review the mapping/applications of payments with vendors invoices  

  • Review expense notes according to the global travel policy 

  • Handle vendor inquiries & resolve discrepancies 

  • Assist with month-end closing activities related to AP 

  • Prepare accruals (deferred costs & invoices to receive)  

  • Support audit requests 

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards  

  • Responsible for AP side of monthly VAT return process 

  • Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and workflows, i.e. become more efficient 

  • Support automation and digitalization in our new accounting tool 

  • Support treasury by track incoming and outgoing payments to enable liquidity planning  

  • Manage AP effectively: no backlog, no late payments, AP KPI’s, minimal manual entries, first time right, …

Profil

Could this be you? 

  • Education: You’ve got a bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. 

  • Experience:  3-5 years of experience in AP or similar role in accounting or finance. A previous experience in Big 4 or similar environment is preferred. Understanding of purchase process and best practice AP accounting. Peppol compliance knowledge. 

  • Tech Savvy: Familiar with modern financial management software (Bob Sage, Odoo, Sage100, Exact, AP tools, OCR tools, bank payment software) together with Office suite especially Excel. 

  • Effective Communicator: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills 

  • Team Player: you’ve demonstrated success in working collaboratively, with an eye for fostering partnerships across departments and with external partners. 

  • Languages: You are fluent in English & French. (Spanish, Dutch would be a plus) 

A strong drive for continuous improvement, AI and automation of administrative processes is required for this job, while having the fundament of understanding the base accounting flows, bookings and reporting.
